Image: Loveman's interview

Joel Connelly, Seattle PI reporter, interviews Klabona Elder Loveman Nole, prior to the "mixing of the waters" ceremony, during the Sacred Headwaters Gathering on the slopes of Mt Klappan (August 4 2006). Loveman tells hunter/gatherer stories past down for generations, of the use and occupation by earlier generations of the Klabonotine and Klogotine people. Later during the ceremony, he brought the group to tears with his heart felt memories of nomadic travels, of his tracks, the moose he killed, and of many Spatsizi headwaters river crossings with his father, grandfather and extended family relations. He remains happy, strong and committed to protecting the Sacred Headwaters.
