Global pressures to gobble resources are seen by Dr David Suzuki as a root cause in the current extraction boom facing indigenous peoples of Northwest BC's great rivers, whether or not northwest cultures depend upon water quality for salmon. When the dominant culture can come to recognize the value of protecting our Sacred Headwaters, we will be on par with Asian cultures who protect their sacred headwaters.
